Painted Toast!

The girlz LOVED doing this!

 Use any kind of 'milk'...

 We used Almond milk and...

 ... food colouring!

 'c' kind of stuck to the middle...sogging it out ...

'g2' nibbled as she painted...

I purchased some new paint brushes that will only be used for food purposes.

Once they were done, we popped them into the toaster and waited...

They came out just as bright as when they went in!

They were quickly consumed and we repeated the fun again later when the sibs arrived home from school and they saw the "paint"...

So this 'craft' works for ANY age!

That's always a good thing!

"Swimming" Lessons...

The kiddos have been taking a few swimming lessons lately...

 's'  has really "immersed" himself...

He's LOVING the water and I am pleased with his improvement!

Good work boy-o!

 'z' is IN the water and that IS a HUGE accomplishment for her...

She has improved as well and that is a VERY good thing!

's', as you can see, LOVES being in the pool!

It's nice to have them do something where they can learn a new skill and have SO much fun at the same time!!

BITE!!!

Tonight dh & I attended...

"Bite of Nanaimo"

It's a fundraiser for Theater One.

You buy a ticket to enter...

and then once you're inside you purchase strings of tickets...

as many as you think you'll need...

[You can always buy  more...]

This year there were 19 various eating establishments there...

They served a wide range of dishes.

Items varied from one ticket up to four tickets.

We perused the 'guide' and began making our selections...

This was such a fun thing to do!

It allowed dh to munch away on this...

Sushi...

While I enjoyed this...

Lime Cheesecake!!!

YUM!

This cute little bag of cookies was also available so we decided to take one home to the kiddos...

But....we also took some cute wee cupcakes too!

We were both so full when we left...

One of my favourite eats of the night ...

Ribs!

Oh they were delectable!

Thee best ribs I have ever had!

The flavour was amazing with a slight burn at the end... Fabulous!

We're making a date for next year's 'Bite' already!

Trash the Dress!

So I have a few friends...

These gals can crack me up!

One of my friends recently celebrated 25 years of marriage!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

We were discussing the recent trend of 

"Trash the Dress" photo shoots...

She approached her dh about it and he said yes!

My friend 'DP' & I were already headed to the lm for an overnight visit with another dear friend of ours,

so we decided to 'make it happen'!!!

Oh my!

What an absolute honour, pleasure, blast it was!!!

We ended up 'shooting' for almost 5 hours!

Sooooo FUN!!!

This was a pic that "the Bride's" dh snapped just as we were ready to head to the ferry...

The dress isn't too trashed....but it was rather dirty along the bottom...

And DJ's 'bottom' & skirt were soaked!

She ended up with her keister in the creek!

DP "shot" people and I was there as a people wrangler, reflector holder and various other duties...

However THIS is the pic that cracks me up!!!

I won't go in to why it was so funny...

Because it probably won't be so funny to you!

Suffice it to say that my sides were sore from laughing and I was glad

to have NOT peed my pants either!!!

It was a most hilarious time!

's' & 'z' have spent plenty of time over the summer and having a great time too while entertaining the babez with 'Diaper Box Derby'! 

It keeps four kiddos occupied!

Eight Maids a Milkin'!

Well actually it was TWO maids and TWO farm 'dudes'....

[What is the male version of "maid"?]

While there we learned that they were open for any & all help during their cow milking times...

We suggested to the kiddos that 5:30AM would be a great time to go as there would be a better chance of nobody else being there...

They decided they would do just that!

So today off they went!

They had an absolute  BLAST!!!

They milked the WHOLE herd!

68 cows!

They spent 3 hours helping Dave.

He's in charge of the dairy part of the farm.

He was really impressed with their efforts and even gave them some FREE cheese!

You can't get a much better experience than that!

They would LOVE to do it again!

They cleaned teats, hooked up milking machines and iodined the teats when they were finished.

They did it all!

They learned a lot too!

I am so proud of all of them for getting up at 5AM and making the 20 minute drive to be there and ready for the 5:30AM cow call!

Way to go my little hayseeds!

They have so much fun every year.

I'm hoping that someday we make it over to the PNE...

For now, they're happy to keep it local.
