Caramelized Onion Fiends!!!

So I blogged about making this...

Which started with making, what I thought was, a HUGE batch of caramelized onions...

I did five VERY LARGE onions...

When I set them out onto the platter to cool...

These two decided it was SUPPER TIME!!!!

 They dug right in!!!

 And kept right on digging so I thought I would just put some on a smaller plate and they could help themselves....

 Well they did help themselves and I reloaded the plate again....

Finally I just said ok...

Snapped a few pics and let them go to town on the BIG platter!

 Here's Miss 'c' double fistin' it!

She could not get them in, chewed and swallowed fast enough! 

Here's Miss 'g2'...YUM!

They ate at least 1/3 of the platter...

I snapped my pics and then walked away!

LOL.....

Yes, we are ALL caramelized onion fans in this house...

But we do have two wee ravenous fiends who would take us all down for just one more bite!

Painted Toast!

The girlz LOVED doing this!

 Use any kind of 'milk'...

 We used Almond milk and...

 ... food colouring!

 'c' kind of stuck to the middle...sogging it out ...

'g2' nibbled as she painted...

I purchased some new paint brushes that will only be used for food purposes.

Once they were done, we popped them into the toaster and waited...

They came out just as bright as when they went in!

They were quickly consumed and we repeated the fun again later when the sibs arrived home from school and they saw the "paint"...

So this 'craft' works for ANY age!

That's always a good thing!

Muffin Munchers...

We made 'Black Bottom Banana Cones' today!

It's just a few chocolate chips tossed into the bottom of a flat bottomed ice cream cone...

then you spoon some banana muffin batter in and bake!

The girlz LOVED them!

Yes, they're still in their pj's...

Some days are like that...

It's part of our every day...

Jiggler-Time!

We did Jigglers today!

If it gets quiet upstairs...

Stripped down to their dipes and plunking away on the piano downstairs...

Bathing Suit Babez...

 They were perched on the arm of the couch and I just HAD to capture their tiny frames.

So in their own world and having a terrific time conversing with one another...

Giggles and all!

Today we...

... went for a stroll to Sidney.

 We went to a few 2nd hand shoppes and had a picnic lunch near the water.

It was absolutely loverly!

 I'll say it for the kabillionth time... It is SO hard to get these two looking in the same direction at the same time!

Let alone smiling... and then we throw in three more to boot!

Everyone LOVES the park!

Park Pics...

We are at the Grandparents' house for a few days while our flooring gets done...

So we took the kiddos over to the park...

I'm trying to brush off the cobwebs of the few little things I thought I once knew about 'making' pictures...

Here are a few of my faves...

Let's start with Miss 'z'...

 When I walked into the park and saw this new piece of equipment...

I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do with it!

 Loooove the schwoopy schwirl and how 'z' is right in the heart of it!

And this one of her oh so happy, laughy, smiley, joyful giggly self emerging ...

Terrific colour combo too!

Her red shirt and that periwinkley purple of the schwirl!!!

I do believe I have the PERFECT pp to match!

Can't wait to scrap these pics!

'S's favorite colour is ORANGE...

He was thrilled when he saw this new piece of equipment on the playground!

 He enjoyed climbing ALL over it...

 The 'babez' were RUNNING  all over the place!

The area now has a fence surrounding it so it was the best place for them to run amok!

And they just went for it!

 After a while...

'c' ended up on a swing with Gma...

 But 'g2' just kept right on truckin'!!!

I was getting dizzy watching her burn up lap after lap after lap around the playground and fields! 

That girl wore me out and I wasn't even running!

 Miss 'C' LOVED them!

 So did Miss 'g2' !

They munched away...

Enjoying their slurps of milk as needed...

 But the thing that really warmed my heart....

[Remember these are Dark Chocolate & Chili cookies...?]

Seeing 'g2' SHARE her beloved cookie with her beloved big sis!

It doesn't get much sweeter than that!

Guess what Miss 'C' LOVES...?

Let me start by saying...

I do NOT enjoy RAW onions on anything!

Even raw green onions are a stretch for me...

BUT...

I have discovered 'caramelized onions'...

I LOVE THEM!

On many thingz!

BBQ'd chicken 'za for one!

So today I was caramelizing a bunch of onions...

[They take about 30-40 minutes to transform themselves so I like to make up a bunch and keep them in the fridge.]

Miss 'C' wanders into the kitchen and seems interested in trying them...

So, we give it a go...

dh drops in a small handful...

 I am ready for the immediate "regurge" reaction...

 There isn't any!

 She DEVOURS several more mouthfuls!!!

I actually had to cut her off....

She was eating the WHOLE pan!!!!

I started with 5 BIG onions!

I'm pretty sure she ate at least 1... if not 2!

I think I've created a 'monster'!

Good thing onions are inexpensive!
