'Z' Haircut!

'z' LOVES to have her hair cut short!

So Saturday she did just that!
Well SHE didn't cut it...our friend did!

Trash the Dress!

So I have a few friends...

These gals can crack me up!

One of my friends recently celebrated 25 years of marriage!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

We were discussing the recent trend of 

"Trash the Dress" photo shoots...

She approached her dh about it and he said yes!

My friend 'DP' & I were already headed to the lm for an overnight visit with another dear friend of ours,

so we decided to 'make it happen'!!!

Oh my!

What an absolute honour, pleasure, blast it was!!!

We ended up 'shooting' for almost 5 hours!

Sooooo FUN!!!

This was a pic that "the Bride's" dh snapped just as we were ready to head to the ferry...

The dress isn't too trashed....but it was rather dirty along the bottom...

And DJ's 'bottom' & skirt were soaked!

She ended up with her keister in the creek!

DP "shot" people and I was there as a people wrangler, reflector holder and various other duties...

However THIS is the pic that cracks me up!!!

I won't go in to why it was so funny...

Because it probably won't be so funny to you!

Suffice it to say that my sides were sore from laughing and I was glad

to have NOT peed my pants either!!!

It was a most hilarious time!

Scrappin' Sistas Together Again!!!

These two gals are my best good scrappin' friends!

The one in the middle decided to move on us over the summer though...

[Guess that's what you have to do if you want dh to keep the scrap cash flowin'!!]

So now she's a boat ride and a short roadtrip away...

Not too bad really...

So D & I decided to go for a visit.

D & I popped over this morning and then we shopped our day away!

My Two Little Monkeys...

I just HAD to get one of these monkey costumes from The Children's Place...

I waited for a SALE, of course!

Fortunately my friend also had a similar experience and so I borrowed hers and  was able to snap a few pics of my two monkeys!

They are indeed two little monkeys!

Today I did some swishin'!

[swishin' = laundry]

When I removed the babez laundry from the dryer I discovered that the socks weren't quite dry...

Instead of tossing the wee thingz back into the dryer [and making my hydro meter spin faster] I decided to hang the wee socks over the branches of my orange tree in a sunny window. 

So this became my potd.

[It was dh's suggestion!]

Get Your Halloween ON!

October is HERE!

Today we thought we would celebrate the start of this wonderful month by letting 'g2' get her Halloween ON!

I found this fun onesie last year...

I bought a bigger size so that she would be able to wear it for more than just one year.

It's not real "in your face" Halloween.

Plus I think it's super cute!

She was the first to figure out how to get up on the couch...

For the past several days they have enjoyed watching the activity in the neighborhood...

Across the road there is some extensive landscaping going on!

Trucks, back hoes, mini earth movers and the like.

A real live mini  'Mighty Machines' right outside their window!

The workman have waved to them too!

They LOVE it and wave back!

These are the polar fleece sheets that I put on my bed every year when the temperature takes a dip into the single digits...

No matter how cold I am when I go to bed...

I am toasty warm within minutes.

I think I need to buy another set!

I've heard that it might be a rather chilly winter this year...

Make-Up...let the fun begin!

So today 'g' & I had a wee make up lesson with Richard at SDM.

He did a great job!

Her eyes look amazing!

I asked him to keep her looking natural

She looks like a right purdy lassie!

Sick babe...

Both babez have been sick...

Feeling off, got the "can't-help-its", super snotty noses.

I've wiped so much snot off noses...

I've gone through all of my boxes of tissues!

Today was the day!!!

'g' got her braces taken OFF!

She is soooooo happy...

but you can see that!

One last ice cream sandwich...

After lunch today I was looking in the freezer for something...

And I came across the last two ice cream sandwiches that my Mom made!

I shared one with the babez... they DEVOURED it!

The last one...I ate it!

Well...I took a bite...grabbed my camera...snapped a pic...and then I ate it!

Nothing tastes more like Summer than an ice cream sandwich!

It was a lovely warm day today...the windows are open again!

A sure sign...

...that Fall has arrived.

The electric kettle gets a permanent spot on the counter!

Boiling water for herbal tea, hot chocolate or for pouring into the kiddos thermos' as a preheater 

so they can take a "hot lunch" to school.

Even as I type this at 9:37am...

I am already steeping my first cup of tea...ginger mint...

There's a chill in the house...

I've even closed a few windows and almost closed the rest...

They've been WIDE OPEN all summer!

So, it's finally OFFICIAL... FALL HAS ARRIVED!

So today we went for a small hike at Piper's Lagoon to test them out...

Window Watchers...

Have I said lately how much I love this window???

It gets even better though...

The neighbors across the street are having some major 'yardwork' done.

The equipment, noise and workmen keep these two glued to their spots for much of their waking day.

I think the workmen get quite a kick out of seeing these two sprites peeking down at them.

Once when I was wrangling the babez for lunch I saw one of the workmen waving at them!
